Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
Notepadly ("we", "the site") is a free, browser-based notepad. This page explains, plainly, what data is and isn't collected when you use it.
Your notes never leave your browser
Notepadly has no server, no database, and no account system. Everything you type is held in the page's memory and written to your browser's localStorage — a storage area the browser sets aside for this site, on this device only. Nobody, including whoever runs this site, can read, receive, or access what you write. There is no network request that carries your note content anywhere, at any point.
What that means in practice
- Your notes are not backed up by us. If you clear your browser's site data, use a private/incognito window, or switch browsers or devices, your notes will not be there. Use the .txt / .md download buttons to keep a copy elsewhere.
- We don't know how many notes you have, what's in them, or how often you use the site.
- There is nothing to delete on request, because we never had a copy to begin with.
Cookies and advertising
This site may display advertisements served by third-party ad networks, such as Google AdSense. These networks may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. This is separate from, and has no access to, the contents of your notes, which stay in local storage and are never exposed to any script that isn't part of this page's own editor.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or generally at aboutads.info.
Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic (for example, page views or approximate location by country). This data is never linked to note content, which is never transmitted anywhere.
